Otis Williams on Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks, David Ruffin, and Melvin Franklin; The Temptations Mini-Series
For some reason, it really bugs me that the Tempts got themselves so nicely dressed and took the time out of their lives to pose for this silly photo, and the photographer could not even make sure they were all lined up properly so that the bottom of Eddie and Paul’s faces weren’t being cut off, or bother to put up a white backdrop so that, you know, there’s not a fucking radiator in the background.
Right? You don’t cut off people’s faces isn’t that rule #1 of photography? Like, especially not Eddie Kendricks, either. ;)
Took a couple screen grabs of the zoom on this one.
There’s a very, very similar photo, clearly taken right after this one, that is on the cover of a Temptation songbook I have. David is being a lot more flamboyant with the pose and pretty goofy as compared to this one, in which he’s pretty cute (even though I don’t like his hair quite that short).
Meanwhile, Paul is making a face like “Blue, what DID you eat for lunch?”
My man Paul ain’t even here for all this photoshoot nonsense.
Oooh but my man Eddie is looking fine in this photoshoot.
I love this; the original 5 with David looking all innocent and Eddie looking all adorable.
